I’ve lived in the Pacific Northwest my whole life and feel lucky to call it home—I love the outdoorsy, artsy vibe of Washington State. I grew up in Spokane, and while it has its quirks, I think it’s a great place to live. There are many spots to hike and camp around here, and I’ve always loved downtown. I grew up playing at Riverfront Park and still enjoy walking there on sunny days.
When I’m not working, I like to take my dog on walks, play board games with friends, and binge-watch shows with my spouse. I make a mean charcuterie board, love anything with a spooky vibe, and enjoy watching birds while they do their cute little bird things. I haven’t had much success befriending the neighborhood crows, but I’m convinced I’ll win them over eventually.
I love being in the mountains or near the ocean—anywhere that reminds me how big and beautiful the world is. Road-tripping from Spokane to California on the 101 is one of my all-time favorite adventures. There’s something grounding about being surrounded by trees, salt air, or a wide-open sky. I feel most like myself when I’m outside, exploring somewhere new, with no particular destination in mind—just a good playlist, a packed snack bag, and the freedom to wander.
As a professional silly goose, it's my responsibility to keep things just a little bit weird. But there's more to it than goofiness for goofiness' sake. Being able to laugh at yourself makes bitter lessons easier to swallow. It helps you stay grounded and keep a good attitude, even when things fall apart. Because just like death and taxes, one thing in life is certain: the proverbial shit will always hit the fan—usually at the worst possible time. But cleaning up the mess is a lot easier when you can laugh about it while you go.
I do my best to approach life with an open mind, and I’ve always been a curious person. I like learning the “how” and “why” behind the way stuff works. Like how dinosaurs became birds, why black holes are so confusing, or when we all collectively started saying things like "yeet" unironically.
My favorite podcasts are Every Little Thing, Ologies, Science Vs, and Twenty Thousand Hertz because I love collecting weird little facts I didn’t know I needed. I’m pretty sure 98% of all conflict comes down to a misunderstanding, so I try to communicate clearly. I let empathy steer most of my decisions, do my best to read the room, and generally try not to be a jerk.
